Weigh in
Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lauren's Epilogue Review blog. It's a
Something vs. Something type of thing. The purpose is for it to be short,
interactive, and something fun to do halfway through the week! Firstly I want
to thank Lauren for inviting me to this interesting meme! And our topic of this
week is:
eBooks vs.
Print Books
I prefer
print books, although I read ebooks too. I don't know, I just feel that reading
a book is an activity of flipping the pages, touching and smelling the papers,
while at the same time grabbing the meaning of its writing. With ebooks, I can
still grab the meaning, but miss the other feelings. Other reason, I like to
collect, admire, and love my books, my books become something valuable for me--a feeling that I don't find in ebooks, maybe because they are too easy to get
(there are many free ebooks that you can
download easily). However, for certain books (classics especially) that are
rare and difficult to get but I really want to read, I would read the ebooks.
What about
you? Are you ebooks or print books reader? Share your thoughts, and join this Weigh
in Wednesday meme here.
I think it shows something about me that if I really like a book I HAVE to own it and put it on my shelf :) I see benefits to both but overall I choose print books too!
ReplyDeleteSame to me, but still, I prefer my real shelf than the virtual one.. ^^
DeleteLast year I was using ebooks a lot for classics. It's great that you can get hold of them so easily from, say, the Gutenberg Project. I like both for different reasons but I am still partial to the feel of pages beneath my fingers.
ReplyDeleteMy WiW.
Right now I choose classics in print books only for those I'd really like to read. But for average books (that I don't know whether I'm going to like it or not) I choose ebooks.
DeleteI love both, but I prefer my Kindle!

The problem with Kindle is when you forget to charge the battery! :)
DeleteAnd thanks for following..
"I like to collect, admire, and love my books, my books become something valuable for me." - hahaha, same reason :) I love my books!!!
ReplyDeleteYayyyy to books! :)
DeleteMy husband has a kindle, and we've found that it's a really useful tool for us as we read the classics. I still prefer the printed page, scribbling in the margins, judging my progress by the location of my bookmark, but the ability to look up words on the spot, and search for things, especially as we go back and blog about the books, has been very nice.

Yes, I agree. We still love prints but found ebooks useful to several reading aspects.
DeleteThanks for following, I'm following you back! I like the e-books for ones I may only read once. But books I love and may want to go back and read again, I want the hard copy.
